Mikaël Héroux-Vaillancourt

Mikaël Héroux-Vaillancourt (under the supervision of Catherine Beaudry) defended his doctoral thesis on April 28, 2023 at Polytechnique Montréal.

Entitled Exploring Corporate Websites to Assess Entreprise Innovation- Measuring and Validating the Signal from Textual Content, the thesis unpacks signals related to corporate innovation using statistical construct validity, signal theory and predictive validity.

A first article has been published:Héroux-Vaillancourt, M., Beaudry, C., & Rietsch, C. (2020). Using web content analysis to create innovation indicators—What do we really measure? Quantitative Science Studies, 1(4), 1601–1637.

His research focuses on different measures of Open innovation by using econometric indicators based on the information available on the websites of technological companies. He holds a Bachelor in industrial engineering from polytechnique Montréal and a Diploma of Higher Specialized Studies from McGill University. Over the course of his studies, Mikaël was involved in several projects of technological entrepreneurship that allowed him to build complementary experience.
